What happens when a child needs support... but no one is there to provide it?

That question became the foundation of ACTION, Inc.

Our founder, Sydney Jones, spent years working with children in community programs, the juvenile justice system, foster care, and behavioral health. She noticed something that was impossible to ignore—many of the same children were appearing in every system.

The challenges looked different, but the underlying need was the same.

Children and families didn't simply need another program. They needed someone willing to understand the full picture, remove barriers, and walk beside them.

They needed someone willing to walk beside them.

So ACTION was created.

Not because another organization was needed.

Because another family needed hope.

We believe lasting change requires more than good intentions. It requires action.

Every day, our team works to remove barriers through mental health care, education, family support, practical resources, and community connection.

Our name reminds us that every conversation, therapy session, home visit, group, and relationship is an opportunity to create meaningful change.

What began as a small nonprofit has grown into a comprehensive behavioral health and family-support organization serving children, caregivers, and families throughout South Central Kentucky.

Today, ACTION provides:

• Individual, family, and group therapy
• Targeted Case Management
• Youth Peer Support
• Therapeutic after-school, homeschool, summer, recreation, and independent-living programs
• Support for foster, adoptive, kinship, and biological families
• Clothing, hygiene items, books, respite opportunities, family events, and other community resources
